Jer and I have been cooking every evening out in the garden whilst we are here in France. Being an all american boy he loves to bbq (men and fire…) and I have been relishing having the time and the energy to actually cook things.
This evening we had a lovely dinner so I thought I’d share the beginning to the end 🙂
First of all, I made a puff pastry tart with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto.
It is super easy to make and is perfect for eating outdoors. As you can see from the next photo..
Next Jer got the Bbq going. It is a really nice brick oven in the corner of the garden
Once the coals were nice and hot..
..he started to make the preparations. First he prepared the grill
then he marinated the sardine fillets
popped the salmon on the grill
It is thirsty work all this bbqing so he had to stop for a cold drink
Meanwhile I made a salad
Soon the fish was ready and was so tasty
We finished off with little apple pies bought near by and heated up on the grill
This dinner was the cherry on the top of a pretty perfect day
